Edit a page in the block editor

Updated

The pages of a site are made of blocks, and WordPress admin edits them in the block editor. Our plugin adds section blocks with a choice of layouts, and a panel that edits the typed fields of services, service areas, industries, locations, gallery items, reviews, and FAQ items.

Open a page in the editor

  1. Sign in to WordPress admin.
  2. Select Pages in the left menu.
  3. Select the title of the page you want to change. The block editor opens.

Edit the text and the images

Select a block and type to change its text. Select an image block and choose Replace in its toolbar to pick another image from the media library. Blocks that show a business detail, such as the phone number, read it from the site's business details, so the editor and the page show the same value.

Change a section's layout

Each section of a page is a block with a Layout setting.

  1. Select the section in the editor, or choose it from the List View.
  2. Open the block settings in the right sidebar.
  3. Choose another option in the Layout select.

The editor lists each layout by its name. The choice that is empty uses the default layout of the site's design.

Edit the fields of a service, area, or review

Services, service areas, industries, locations, gallery items, reviews, and FAQ items have their own items in the left menu. Open one of them, and the settings sidebar holds a panel named after the type, such as Service details or Review details. The panel shows the fields of that type, for example the author, the rating, and the date of a review. Change a field in the panel, and the page shows the changed value.
