Confirm deletions, links, and restores

Updated

The Website Agent makes most changes at once. For the seven kinds of change in the table below, it prepares the change and waits for you to confirm it. The conversation then shows a card headed "The agent needs your confirmation", and nothing changes on the site until someone selects Confirm.

When the agent asks

The agent wants toWhat the card says
Delete a page"Delete the page" and its name. The page and its content are removed from the site.
Delete an item"Delete the" item type and the item's title. The item is removed from the site.
Delete a content group"Delete the content group" and its name, with the number of items in it. The group, its items, and their pages are removed.
Restore a snapshot"Restore the snapshot from" and its moment. Every page, item, menu, and setting goes back to how it was at that moment.
Add a link to another website"Add a link to" the other website's address, and the page that gets the link. Visitors who select the link leave the site.
Replace an edit made in WP Admin"Replace an edit made in WP Admin" and the field. Someone changed this in WP Admin after the agent's earlier change, and Confirm replaces their edit with the agent's version.
Write wording that the advertising rules of the business's industry restrict"Write" and the words in quotation marks. The card says that wording like this can break the advertising rules for the industry, and that you should confirm only if the business can back it up.

A card lists every reason on its own line. When the same change also sets other values, the card adds the line "The same change also sets:" and names them, so Confirm covers exactly what runs.

Confirm or decline

  • Select Confirm to let the agent apply the change. The card reads "Applying…", and then the agent reports the result with a change card, which has an Undo button. The card then reads "Confirmed by" and the member's name and the time in UTC.
  • Select Don't do this to decline. The card reads "You chose not to do this." The agent learns of your answer in its next turn and doesn't make the change.

Any member of the workspace can confirm a card, except one that restores a snapshot. Only the workspace owner or an admin can confirm a restore, and other members see "Only the workspace owner or an admin can restore a snapshot."

Undo a confirmed change

A confirmed change appears in the site's history like any other, with its own Undo button. Undo changes and restore snapshots explains the history. Before a confirmed restore, the site saves a snapshot of its current state, so you can undo the restore too.
