Edit, share, and export mini-sites
Updated
When a batch ends, each ready row has a demo link to a mini-site. You can share the link, change what the mini-site shows, download the whole batch as a CSV file, and delete a mini-site or a batch. None of these steps costs credits.
Open and share a demo link
Open Lead Gen in the sidebar and select the batch. Each ready row in the Mini-sites table shows its demo link. Select Copy link to copy it, or Open mini-site to open it in a new tab.
A demo link is an address on the Lead Gen host. Anyone who has the link can open the page, and search engines don't index it: the page asks them not to. The mini-site has no expiry. An operator can take a mini-site down if a business objects to it, and the row then says an operator took it down.
The table filters by All, Ready, and Needs attention, and the search field finds a business by name. A row can carry a warning, for example when its logo couldn't be used and the page shows the business name as text instead. The Check before you share notice at the top of the page lists the problems that affect the whole batch.
Edit a mini-site
- In the row, select Edit mini-site.
- Change any of these fields: Business name, Phone, Email, Address, Logo address, Primary colour, Background, and Contact section.
- Select Save changes.
The next load of the same demo link shows the change. The text we wrote stays as it is, and your business name fills each place where the name appears, so a renamed business is renamed everywhere on its page.
For the logo, enter the address of a PNG, JPEG, or WebP image. We download it and check it when you save. If the logo can't be used, the page shows the business name as text and the sheet says so. Remove logo returns to the business name as text.
A row has its own colour, background, and contact section only when you set one. Select Use the batch colour to return a row to the batch colour. You can edit a row only when it is ready: a row that is queued, didn't publish, was deleted, or was taken down shows a line that says why.
Edit the batch defaults
Select Edit batch at the top of the batch page to change the Batch name, the colour, the background, the Logo height, and the contact section the rows use when they have no value of their own. A changed colour or background reaches every row that has no value of its own, and a changed logo height reaches every row.
The language, the template, and the industry can't change after the batch is generated, because the text and the images were written for them. Start another batch to use different ones.
You can edit the defaults when the batch has ended.
Choose the contact section
The contact section of a mini-site is one of two kinds. You choose it for the batch, and a row can use the other kind.
- Form. The visitor sends a name, an email address, a phone number, and a message.
- Booking request. The visitor sends a name, an email address, a phone number, a service from the batch's services, a preferred date, a preferred time of day, and a message. It sends a request and has no live calendar.
In the CSV file, set contactMode to form or scheduler.
Where contact messages go
A message from a mini-site's form goes to the email address of the workspace member who made the batch. It doesn't go to the business's email address in the CSV file, so the business never receives a message from a demo it didn't ask for. The message sets the visitor's address as the reply address, and it starts with a note that the sender is a stranger who used a demo page.
The visitor sees a thank-you that says the message was sent. It promises no reply and names no person. Read the limits on contact messages.
Export the batch
Select Export CSV on the batch page. The file is UTF-8 and opens in Excel and Google Sheets. It has the nine columns of the upload with each row's current values, then demoUrl and status. Because the export reads the rows as they are now, your edits are in it.
demoUrlholds the demo link of each published row and is empty for any other row.statussays whether the row is published, failed, deleted, or taken down.- A cell that starts with
=,+,-, or@gets an apostrophe in front, so a spreadsheet shows the text and doesn't run it as a formula. A phone number that starts with+and holds only digits, spaces, and the characters( ) - . /is the one exception and keeps no apostrophe. A cell that starts with+and holds any other text gets the apostrophe.
Delete a mini-site or a batch
Deleting stops a page from working at once, and its address then shows a message that the page was removed. A deletion doesn't return any credit, and you can't undo it.
- Delete mini-site in a row asks you to confirm. The row stays in the table marked Removed, and it stays in the export marked as deleted.
- Delete batch at the top of the page asks you to confirm and removes every mini-site of the batch. You can delete a batch after it ends.
- Delete draft on the list removes a draft's file and settings. A draft uses no credits.
